About me

Hi! My name is Jamelia Brown and I'm a journalist and communicator driven by a deep belief in the power of storytelling to inform, empower, and create change. With a background in PR, education, and community engagement, my work sits at the intersection of media and impact. I take pride in amplifying underrepresented voices, exploring social issues, and breaking down complex topics with clarity and care.

My journalism experience includes features, interviews, and comment pieces focused on topics sustainability, social issues, and travel. I write with intention, guided by a commitment to accuracy, empathy, and accessibility.

Alongside my editorial work, I enjoy creating content about life post university, with an emphasis on travel. I discuss my experiencing working at an American summer camp, teaching English abroad and backpacking around Asia, hoping to inspire and inform others to take the leap. I have just published my first travel e-book, a tell-all guide to backpacking South East Asia for first-timers.

I'm always looking to collaborate on projects that centre social justice, identity, and community, lets tell stories that matter!
